with your passive rejection.
I can't count on you like I used to.
There's nothing there for you
I accept it nearly choking
you've finally managed to
turn me into the bad guy.
You can't take back what you did
or deny the facts
You're the reason were here
behind glass walls,
Where shouts bounce back as echoes
and pass through as whispers
The truth always differs
A cruel game of Chinese whispers,
a cavalier attitude
usually gets me through But it seems
I need a new coping mechanism for you.
I don't know what to do
except mourn the loss of who you were
And embrace the lies of this stranger.
You said you had my back
You said we'd climb mountains together
That you'd catch me if I fall,
Well, my ass is bruised,
my heart is broken from the fall
Welcome to hatred
its all my heart will allow
I have to cope some how.

Truly poetic!
This line makes the poem for me, "Where shouts bounce back as echoes and pass through as whispers" Not only is it beautifully written and emotionally powerful, but it captures so much of the situation in so few words. True poetry at it's finest!
