A Mother's burden

You won't write me a grand poem

Or mention me in some great speech

Or draw us holding hands

Though my assistance is a given

My advice you despise

You turn your shoulder

Roll your eyes

Your scowl unwarranted

My concern is discarded.

My care an invasion

You shirk with a touch

or sign of affection

You won't turn to see my face when i call your name

My truths burn your ego

My compliments you find hollow.

Guidance a criticism.to torturous to bear

I will still stand on the precipice of danger

My heart is a beacon!

My heart is a beacon!

A warning flash in your eyes

Push me away

Push me away

I 'interfear' when your losing your way

I 'abandon' you in your suffering

Im never right

I hold on too tight

I dont make you proud

I may be just a place holder.

A thorn in your side

Just Use and abuse

Use and abuse right?

A mothers pain runs deep

But her ability to carry it runs deeper

Always a burden,

Always a burden.

Never the mother you want

if only I could be better,

But what if,

What if,

I'm just the mother you needed?

An age old dillema

thus, this is a mothers mundane mission

And still

my love for you grows

My love for you grows

Unconditionally,

I will always break your fall.
