I tried to open my eyes,
Open up to see nothing.
I tried to move my body,
Moving to be still.
Straining to listen,
All to hear nothing.
Fighting to feel something,
Just to feel numb.
I tried to open my mouth,
Open up to say nothing.
I tried to tell you,
Ended up not to tell anyone.
Fighting to tell you,
But with out words.
Trying to show you,
By showing nothing.
I was here,
But not anymore.
You said you know...
Did you know?
I tried to open my eyes,
Open up to see nothing.
Trying to move my body,
Moving to be still.
Instead I close my eyes,
Closing to escape from here.
But I'm trapped here,
Six feet under.
Where there is darkness,
Covered by light.
All is seen,
Seen as nothing.
I really like this one, Kate. You are so profound,...so truly deep in your thoughts. I've been trying to write poems like this on this site, but I guess I'm just not that advanced yet. I think that you are able to express certain emotions in a really advanced poetic way. You're poetry is very intelligent and highly telling. I can tell you one thing...you have certainly earned my total respect. I very much admire the work you have posted and consider you a really superb poet!!!!
