FIFTY YEARS
Half a Century has passed since we stood together
In the auditorium at the Clinton Town Hall
Armed with diplomas and a lot of good advice
We were ready to "go for it all"
For fifty years we have celebrated
With a reunion every five years
An impressive number of classmates
Have shown their faces with smiles and cheers
What wonderful faces they are indeed
Etched with wrinkles earned over time
Some extra weight, perhaps a slow gait
Yet we are all still in our prime
We have witnessed the birth of a century
Men walking on the moon
Inventions galore and so much more
Since that memorable day in June
Wars and storms have been part of our lives
Changes in nature we have seen
What stories we'll tell to all who will listen
Of these years of our lives and all that has been
With fondness we remember
Those who have passed away
In recalling memories of them
Their spirits are here today
So, get those cameras ready
Make a page in history
For there never will be another
Like the Class of "53"
