Bitter Coffee

The bitterest coffee comes with age, it hides it's taste quite well.
Those smooth moments in a cafe so long ago,
turn to bitterness as the years pass by.
I grind my beans with bittersweet tears.
I cannot leave my coffee despite my fears.
So instead I grow old and my tears become black
Like the coffee grounds at the bottom of my cup.

Someday I say to myself, i will leave you, never drink you again.
I hate coffee and all that it means.
I will take tea and drink with the best.
So long you bitter coffee.
I have finally got free.
And now with everything at peace I savour my tea!

Coffee or Tea?

I liked the way you wove the two concepts around and inserted the guy as coffee grounds in the cup - Yes to this writing - very cleverly created - allet

Thank you

Thank you.
We partake in these rituals everyday, so I thought they apply to life also.

Rituals

I am drinking Hazelnut flavored coffee, just got back from Brazil-Texas all the meat all the time, had dessert, banana cream pie to die for, with gransdon, daughter and a friend. No coffee...so I'm having it now. Rituals die hard, coffee after a great meal is wonderful, I think. Hugs and Prayers, allets
