There's a beauty deep inside
Her heart is large and she embraces all
Her smiles come with ease and her eyes twinkle
Her laughter rings out and it's contagious
She has a view point on this world like no other
There's a confidence in her words assurance in her stride
Yet what no one sees , she passes a mirror and looks away
She doesn't want to see what she's become
Life has broken her down, damaged her so deep there are scars that can't be seen
Shadows cross her face, her eyes darken
She goes to another place, she's no longer present
Yet when she's here , she hears people say she's beautiful
Yet there's always that doubt
She's been forever damaged
Those scars have destroyed what she was
What she might have been
Yet she's come to see this world is a cruel place
Yet the sun rises and shines through the trees
The water ripples ever so gently bringing peace
Puppies run and play and great you with pure joy
She realizes now, the choice is hers to embrace that beauty
To rise above, rip through those scars
Close of the dark dark place
It's time to open her eyes, look in the mirror and see that there is really a beauty there
