Hear me speak, hear me scream, I speak for my community.
The Bronx is where I grew up.
I attended schools, churches, and community services.
Hear me speak, hear me scream, I speak for my community.
I worked hard to achieve what I have and I’m proud to say I’m from the Bronx.
We are known to be a community of poverty,
but we are all rich in our hearts.
Like many people in the world we have problems, struggles, and injustice.
We the people of the Bronx have worked day and night
improving our neighborhoods, schools, streets, and those in need.
We are not prefect, but we strive to be better.
We may be called a lower class, but at least the Bronx has class.
Hear me speak, hear me scream, I speak for my community.
The Bronx is known to be a dangerous place to live.
We have gangs, violence, pollution,
but there is so much more you do not see.
We have the Yankee stadium where we watch games together.
We have parks where we watch our children play.
We have beautiful spiritual churches where we come together
as a community and pray.
We have Orchard Beach where we have a good time swimming,
and catching a tan.
We have City Island, filled with beautiful restaurants.
Hear me speak, hear me scream, I speak for my community.
There is so much more than what you thought the Bronx to be.
We are the people of the Bronx.
Hear me speak, hear me scream, I speak for my community.
