The poem is haunting with pleas. The repetition makes it so. The small line lengths are almost direct address only it is very much exclusively to this non-descript "other" friend/family/lover - not in the poem, only friend in the explanation - but the entrapment is finely constructed and metaphorically solid as rusty chains and the hope that someone will break them and free the subject. Add that it is a woman's voice pleading and a whole other level opens up. Add universal ambiance and it becomes a symbol for anyone oppressed, in distress, caught inside circumstances that heighten the drama of the "rant" for help. - It is a very nice write. - slc
That's super cool that you read it 5x! Rereading it after your comments really made Me feel those rusty chains. Wow. Thank you for the awesome commentary.
Greetings sootyash. Agree 100% with your R Crumb comment. Still recall watching the movie and loving every second. Apologies to you fuche_bu. Was your comment I'm referring to. I'll get the hang of this eventually.

Sootyash - might this have anything to do with Mr.Einsteins birthday on 3/14? Sorry if this was addressed already
No, actually
I was not aware of the date. But I do like that Einstein entered your mind.
Nice to meet you...

Cosmic coincidence?
Amazing that not only 3/14 Einstein dob, it was Stephen Hawking dod. Both on pi day! What we don’t know...
Surely
We are quite familiar with cosmic coincidence. Interesting about the birthdates.
And on pi day. Well, Pi day is in honor of Einstein anyway.
Nobody gave me pie on pi day. I'm kinda dissapointed now.
