so today i met a new friend

she takes care of me

just like you forgot too



we've grown very dear to eachother

and now i'm safe in saying i love her

she may not be you, but no one is



i'll tend to her broken heart

as she tends to mine

for every tear i cry

she is right there to catch it

and kiss it away



we belong together

just like you and i did

but this time i feel it could be right



my heart still beats for you

but i know yours no longer beats for me

so i like my new friend thank you very much



someday maybe you'll see

that for all your searching,

for all the other boys you needed to see,

what you needed was right in front of you



and now i'm gone

off to live my life

off to find my own way

and i'm taking my new friend with me.
