Swinging from branch to branch
I lean perilously close to an edge
Of a horizon I could never reach the end of
Until I find myself swinging
Somewhere on the low end of a mood swing
Drifting and falling
Slowly
Until I fall into you
Floating somewhere over the middle of the ocean
Over the craggy rocks that lie below
Over the death and destruction of the hell beneath.
You catch me and hold me
Whispering in my ear that it'll all be alright
But I don't trust you
Because I can see the ocean crashing below us
Waiting to swallow the darkness of my soul
And the rest of what used to be me.
Swinging from breeze to breeze
We climb out of the depths of the sky
Finding footing on a solid ground
That I couldn't find on my own
You caught me on the low end of a mood swing
And brought me to land
Teaching me that maybe
When I start to fall
I won't always fall to the bottom.
