Soulful sad songs play in my head
Melodies I've heard millions of times
Some of them, I could even recite for you-
Word, for word
Because, of course, I can't sing for shit
But you didn't know that
At least, not before I told you.
I can say the words, though
And mean them every bit as much
As the singer meant to sing
I can feel the words
Maybe, even more.
Sometimes it all becomes a racket in my head
All the songs, and all the words
Just, jumbled together
So I can't make sense of any of it
Until I scream
And the whole world just,
Falls
then things are more clear
More calm
And the soulful sad songs
Play in my head
Again
And again
And
Again. . . .
"Cuz I can't make you love me, if you don't...."

I love the idea in this poem. And I love that song... It has been on repeat many a time in my life. this is very well written poem, and I can say that it helps me not to feel so alone in this lonely world. Keep writing and keep hope. There is love out there...
