Broken promises and shattered dreams,
Pain of every kind,
As far back as I remember,
With no end yet in sight.
Surrounded by those who hate me,
And those who could care less,
The hope inside me dieing,
Its lifeline growing dim.
I used to want companionship,
Now it's reduced to want of peace,
The deathly silent peace of solitude,
Safe from those who cause my pain.
So I wait for the day to come,
When I no longer feel anything,
The bitter memories taken from me,
Of broken promises and shattered dreams.
