Six little letters,
That have much to say,
Everyone knows them,
POW and MIA.
Having no idea,
What fate had in store,
When sent across seas,
To fight in time of war.
Arriving nervous,
In a hellish war torn place,
To do their duty,
And stare death in the face.
Disappearing in battle,
The price paid was high,
Captured or killed,
The thought makes some cry.
To remind us of them,
Words that will stay,
“You are not forgotten”,
A message true to this day.
