on translation and poetry


I greatly enjoy your poetry. Now although poetry cannot be translated to take full advantage of every nuance; still the unique way in which a

poet deals with a subject in his/her story telling always bleeds through, so that it is possible to touch the heart of another, even with a poorly written translation.  Now that kind of translated poem is perhaps close to purity if all it does is capture the essence of the spoken heart and the emotions without the use of devices.
