Jaded Thoughts of You

I am not the girl you used to know, she and I are different now,

I am not the girl you fell in love with once before,

I was once her, but the seasons have changed us,

Time has left us naive to the fact that what we once knew is now lost



I can admit that the love we once shared lingers slightly in my heart,

The us that I held so securely is now nothing more than a fairytale,

a once upon a time



I tried not to let our love fade, but this relationship was never meant to be,

it ended before it even got a chance to begin



Maybe in all reality this true love was not true at all,

just a figment of our imaginations,

a holigram, something fiction, not able to grasp,

and yet as time passes I still think of you



Your face stains my memory,

constantly reminding me of what was, or could have been

Well, this is a pretty powerful poem. U dont even need rhymes to get your point across, and i think that's pretty cool. Looks like this is your first poem on here, and i really hope you keep it up. Thanks for the critique on my birthday poem too.
