Tympanic Membrane

I'm singing songs so loud

they can probably hear me at the house

out of tune, with no rhythm

only to express the joy in my heart

that grew there when I realized

my freedom of choice.

I sing songs so loud

so someone will remember me someday

and they'll whistle along

helping keep tempo

and letting my joy, my choice

permeate the flesh of anyone who hears it

and through me they'll choose freedom

and we'll all help each other

remember the words

existing through the bass lines

holding up the verses

expressing a melody, a harmony

and documenting the sharps and flats.
