An able shift I make my way
Down streets of bare antiquity
And I see you, below your frames
And wonder of your insecurities
I fancy you, because you're you
Despite your harshest drop
Giving you a piece of mind
Is what I've learned to cherish
In return you pad my fall
To remind me that I mean so much
You care too much, we both can tell
I struggle not to cause you harm
Words are frail and don't belong
So we decide to stare
Slow we walk, towards nowhere new
And maybe we'll hold hands
Courses taken, shoulders shaken
Conversing to stall time
We'll call each other later maybe
To say we made it home all right
I imagine that you must like me too
Or maybe you're too kind
I ache for you, you might know
But no one knows it's you
I'm quite proud and I admit
I'm scared of your response
But maybe then again some day
You'll say the same of me
We hurry home and tighten up
But we embrace the heat
We're both such shy and quiet things
Who only want each other.
