So here I was a bit hastey
Accustomed to this city, state
Dust it off and claim it as yours
Waltz away, skip the spree
Gleefully pretending that the world
bends to your every whim
Overwhelmed by your lack of love
I'm sorry that I've forgotten you
Now I'm back to captivate
I bring plans to construct all over
I've laid down the foundation
Standing proud with my head spinning 'round
I bleed contentment as the pavement spews lava
I neglect to mention the times of day
atleast when it means I'll be taking my leave
I don't wish to be on the other side of the sphere
But I can't help being washed away
Blown away
And I've learned that no matter the price
I'm becoming accustomed to burning my pockets
Grinding my skin
And spending that extra second or two
Because after all's said and done
A siren sounds beyond my jaw
And the only clear answer I can retrieve
Is that I'm not fully functional
until you're at my side
As happy as can be.
