A whirlwind of shades of brown, orange and red
Dance across a field in an autumn breeze.
Almost as if it were a paintbrush gliding over a canvas.
The autumn leaves always seem to bring peace of mind
Even when it was in the darkest of times.
I found beauty staring out the widow watching the leaves fall gracefully.
But this story isn't about falling gracefully, beauty or peace of mind.
This is about a man who felt he lost something he never really had.
Someone who finally gave up and stopped looking for beauty in life.
Most would say he lost faith in everything he once believed in.
He feels tormented by the thoughts and hopes of happiness.
In his mind that is not his life but he yearns for it.
His words he felt so passionate about now mean nothing to him.
So he buries it all deep inside.
He doesn't hide it with a smile anymore,
Just says “everything is fine.”
To him this is the end.
No, not the end of his life,
But the end…the end of me.
So I stare out the window…
