Alone with a shattered promise of hope.

Alone with broken dreams of love.

There's no one left to hold her hand--

No one left to mend her fragmented heart.

Alone, so much loneliness tears her apart.

Sitting in the corner of a crowded diner,

surrounded by people who don't realize she exists.

Her tears fall and she wants to give up,

until a simple smile from across the room

ends her sorrow, breaks through her loneliness,

and grants her the hope she needs to survive.
