The Tales Of The Silver One - The Dear One

The Little One looked to the Guardian with eyes filled with sadness. She knew the task and the journey that she must make, and understood that she may not understand why but that it was as it should be. The Guardian felt her pain as they had felt it so many times before and knew it would soon be mixed with the pain of others, “It is how it is meant to unfold Little One. She will not remember the brief pain or even the dark stillness when she awakens. She will need you to help her understand, she will be confused as all are at first.”

The Little One looked into the distance, at nothing in particular, “She will be okay, but what of those who love her, will miss her, and those who love them and will worry for them? This will not seem to make sense to anyone left, and I have no voice to help them or to help her explain to them.” Soft tears slid slowly down her silken cheeks. “How do I ease their pain when it is added to mine also?”

The Guardian brushed her cheek gently and she felt their love and compassion wash over her bruised soul. “You were chosen long ago to help with these tasks, given the very special gift of being able to feel their feelings. They cannot be helped by those who cannot feel their pain or understand where their heart is. It can be a painful gift in times like these, but also beautiful. And it can be a joy when you can share their happiness.”

The Little One looked at the Guardian, “Is it already time? Must it be so soon? She will be so missed by many, “ but for him, she is his world.” She knew that this tale was already penned, the ink on the lines set, still, she could wish.

The Little One knew she would be unseen until after her charge had started her journey, still she wanted to be there for her, to be ready to help her.

The lady looked about confused, she had been at home with her love then it got a bit blurry, and this Little One holding her hand seemed at once so very familiar and still one she had never before seen. The Little One was very lovely, and there was around her an air of calm and love. And this was not home, but the most lovely place she could imagine. “Please, where am I? My husband will be worried that I left without a word ,“ he will wonder where I have gotten off to.” The Little One smiled sadly at her words and she wondered at her sadness. The Little One spoke and her voice reminded her of silver bells, “He knows where you are Dear One. What do you recall last?”

The question surprised her, and she became aware that some time had passed, but was unsure how much. “I was home and he was on the computer, how long ago was that?”

The Little One smiled a soft smile that let her know she could trust her, “Just a bit less than a day of his time, but time here will be very different.” Now she wondered at the Little Oneâ's words. Time here was different? Isn't time just that, time? And here? But where was 'here'? Now the Little One looked sadly amused, “You will understand, allow yourself time.”

As if on cue the Dear One heard sounds and voices, some she knew very well and others that she knew even though they had not met. Some seemed to be shocked and wondered at some event, others were in great pain,“ and over and over she heard her name. Then above all the others she heard him crying, a soft deep painful crying. She looked at the Little One, concerned for those she loved, especially him.

The Little One took her hand and looked at her with eyes filled with compassion and love, “We share a crystal reflecting pond here, shall I show you?” Now her mind raced, she had heard tales about a special pond, a crystal reflecting pond . . . . but it was there, did that mean she was there? Had she somehow journeyed there? “You have left that world Dear One, yes. But you will always be able to be there for those you love, just in a different form now. And because you loved enough to trust, he has others around him to help you watch over him. He is in pain, but because of your love he is not alone.” She realized she was at the edge of a lovely pond, but was afraid to look into it's waters, afraid all she would see would be her own reflection. She needed to see him and could not bear the thought of being disappointed. The Little One smiled at her, “Look, you will see what you desire. And with practice you will be able to reach him and offer him comfort. That reach may look like a special butterfly or wildflower that he did not expect to see where he sees it, or a feeling speaking to his bruised heart, or a touch when he knows nothing is near to touch him. He will know Dear One.”

The Dear One looked into the crystal waters and saw him and heard his crying. She felt his feeling of being lost and alone. Then she reached out through the perfect waters and gently laid her hand over his weary heart sending soothing warmth and peace. As she watched over him she whispered quietly to his heart, “Know I will always love you and be with you. I will always watch over you and all you love. And when you need me look no farther than in your heart, because that is the place I have always felt safest.”
