Old porch swing at evening time
As sunlight starts to recline,
Clouds dress in a sunset hue,
Moon and stars wink into view.
Day shifts into calming night
Whispered by the fading light,
In those moments we hold dear
Memories that keep hearts near
Summer nights with magic air,
Gentle breezes blowing fair,
Faeries dance before our eyes
Lighting up the nighttime skies.
Tiny dots of flashing light,
Weaving magic in the night,
Dancing bright without a care,
Laughing, 'Catch us if you dare!'
So we watch the fireflies play
At the closing of the day.
A treasure held in my heart,
Light to keep away the dark.
