Take a fake world off my shelf,

cause i ain't happy like everyone else,

friends ask me "why ain't you happy? can't you manage that?

i'm sure you were before, can you not handle that?"

meanwhile they're handling arms with tracks,

we only get along cause to asses we're cracks,

been hurt by our past and we're not over that,

digging deep in our minds for memorized artifacts,

if only during we could understand

that it's only for a short while so grab her by the hand,

hold her and whisper her favorite tune,

cause my heart is something that only sings for you,

still can't understand why you're mad at me,

i told the damn truth, it had to be

the fact to me you were a mistake i never made,

like almost turning off two exits early on the interstate.
