Holding you tight so you knew,

that all the pain you felt was through,

locked eyes with you, never stopped petting,

even when you went cold, mighty upsetting,

never thought losing my first dog would hurt this bad,

can't even get drunk, for that i'm glad,

what you meant to me can't be put in words,

i miss you but am happy you're up above the birds,

with your back legs working, walking and waiting,

until your owner meets you, you'll always be sitting and waiting,

i hope when i pass i can see you at the gate,

wagging your tail, can't believe the pains this great,

sky view ain't the same without its shining star,

no other dog can come close, all so very far,

when i laid you on the table never thought it'd hurt this much,

i miss you dog, i promise to keep your pet permit close to touch.
