When i think of that short amount of time,
when i could actually mean it when i said you were mine,
i somehow got it in my mind you were right for me,
yet never was i promoted in your company,

maybe it's cause your ex was no where around you,
at first it hurt, on that i'll be fully true,
it was hard in the end to stay sober,
now i'm glad that what we had is over,

think of all the times i never answered your call,
instead of you picking me up after i'd fall,
i really don't want to live this way,
tired of breathing in every word you say,

maybe you wouldn't catch me with a girl from my past,
if right now i said i was able to say i know Kath,
guess i just don't need you though,
now you're just somebody that i used to know.
