You say money isn't important in a couple, yet you seem to have upgraded,
much like the memories we once shared, you're foggy and faded,
all it takes is a song or a line in a book, your name in a movie or even someone giving me your look.

My hopes and emotions were washed ashore by a storm that lasted 3 years,
the wind picked up in the end as i was drowning in my own tears,
some say at least we made it that far but why'd forever have to last so long?
it took you breaking my heart twice for me to realize what we had was wrong.
