A Woman’s Grief

A couple walking hand in hand,

Remind me of those lovely days,

When I had my husband with me;

I’ll always cherish that sweet phase.

The other day a cruel breeze blew,

And it gave me a complete loss;

It destroyed my beautiful life,

And it left me with a divorce…

He always said I looked lovely,

Now sometimes I try to be glad-

My cheeks still look white, and my lips

Still look black, for I’m really sad.

Fake smile can’t hide my true colors.

My baby daughter does not know,

What sorrow is and she has got,

In her cheeks that reddish pink glow.

For this glow I always pray that,

It is always there on her face,

That she is never sad in life,

That her life is full of lovely days.
