Nanna passed away

I miss you
And I don’t know how to cope with this loneliness
You were planning to leave
For a while

I could see the struggle
And its effects
But never found you without a smile

You were always content
Said, “the hand that gives is better
Than which receives”

I look at your belongings
A gold chain with crucifix
A pair of tops and some rings
You left them for your daughters
You said they look after such things better

But what can I have?
To remind me of you
Your words, your guidance
Your faith
I need something more tangible
Then I look at myself
I am after all
Your reflection

Author's Notes/Comments:

My mother in law, a very pious and quiet graceful person passed away last week, I respected her and this is my tribute to her.

Nana

Very touching. Reminded me of my mother. Took me a while to get over the lump in my throat.

NICE

Very personal and moving from the first line to the last. We all have to go my dearest friend. From God we come and to God we return. Nice poem this one...I did not know you were so much attached to your mother-in-law.
