Farewell notes Mr Harikrishnan

The day started with the thought

You would be here

To say farewell

I met you at the reception

And we were glad

That parking the car was a hassle

We were stealing moments

To spend together

In our failing bid to relive

Moments, soon to be memories

We shared a joke

And a cup of tea

In a place you love so well

We embraced

It was difficult to let go

With a parting smile and a saying

You drove away

Past the Willow

Weeping

By the side of the road

Life, its strangeness

Our encounter

At the cross roads of time

And a journey lasting a while

Different backgrounds

Different cultures

Different beliefs

But one thing

Made us transcend

Beyond these pseudo hurdles

Made us share

A bond

A bond of selfless

Friendship

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this poem for a very close friend of mine. Mr Harikrishnan worked as a consultant. We met 4 years ago and after the first meeting we never looked back. Common tastes, Mr HK being such a well read person and lover of fine arts. A thorough gentleman.
