Empathy ( For a child with Malignant Testicular Tumor)

Unaware, you play around

Hide and seek

I watch you with admiration

Yet i fear, you tread dangerous ground

Your cackles of laughter, your innocent ways

Radiant smiles and those naughty eyes

They dont reflect that

Despondency, which in my mind plays

Three springs of life

Only, you are so vibrant

What you harbour

Cuts through my heart like a knife

What I percieve I dare not say

What wisdom has HE I fail to comprehend

The malignant disease will take its toll

O little Hassan if only there was a way

This poem pierces to the heart! I didn't know what to expect coming across the title in the random poems that get spewed out on the main page . . . but I certainly didn't expect this kind of compassion. There's a despair, too . . . I guess the last lines really drive it home.
