For a Jewel Wahid

Folder:
Poems on Persons

A tall figured man

Black long beard

Always remains the same

Even when he’s tired.

Generally he wears

A long white dress,

His qualities in short

Impossible to express.

Always wish you

Raising a hand,

Admires him all

People in the land.

He’s so amicable

And never hostile,

While in movement

He’s so agile!

Always he smiles

Sorrows can’t touch

Can you show other-

Like him such?

His firm faiths

Can easily surpass,

His general desires

And common purpose.

He was in doubt

About grilled chicken,

Justifies the matters

When it is taken!

He becomes puzzled

When you perplex,

Remember that, he is

Never complex.

He likes to play

Lengthy cricket match.

He mumbles when they

Just miss a catch.

A nice friendly man

Though junior to me,

Deals like my senior

As I always see.

Making jokes when we

Tell him to marry,

With shy he says,

“Shouldn’t I tarry?”

I wish him about

Children four dozen!!!

Among them he will

Never disdain.

His dialect is sweet

When he talks.

If I could, I wish

Among his folks!

He performs his job

With great care,

It’s true to us

He is so dear.

Sometimes he is

Really in hurry,

Because he has to

Cook some curry!

A word ‘safe’ may

Written on his chest,

Meaning of this word

He knows the best.

Chewing a betel-leaf

Made his mouth red,

Some qualities made him

Exceptionally great.

He never forgets to call

To take my news,

Promise, I owe to him

So some extent huge.

In short, I can’t

Explain indeed-

Be sure you are a

Jewel Wahid.
