Interesting that you mention the Father of the trio in alluding to Hell. Good one. I concur. "King" is a medieval interpretive reference - King James really lay that one one us. Few countries have kings any more and when they do, they are figureheads and tourist attractors. I would love to read an intepretation of the original text. I probably would not recognize it. The pastoral references replaced by Midieval English Royalty references would be the damager. All the thornes and golden everything references would become shepherds and flocks and fishermen and nets and the sweaty multi-step process of making wheat into flour. Wine making would also be prominent in the parables and the sermons. Hmmmm...- slc
