Reflecting On Me

I am a stand that reflects the beauty itself

With the help of light as I call my best friend

My enemy is darkness, and being alone on the shelf

I welcome all the beauty, so I can defend

Watching her grow ever since she was a kid

Creates sadness in me with dripping tears

Remembering when she tried on clothes her mom hid

And how things have changed in the past years

How can time pass and change things in a flash

Watching her grow from one stage to another

Makes me worried if I will ever crash

And not be able to see her last picture as a mother

Now that I see her with her beautiful white dress

Standing with the one that makes her smile shine

I can imagine how her smile will progress

When she’s holding the one they will combine

Author's Notes/Comments:

In this poem, the mirror is expressing her feelings of watching her owner get married.  The mirror is wondering how life passes by so fast since the lady was a young girl and now she has grown.  The mirror worries a lot not being able to live more by crashing and it wants to stay with the lady and wants to see her as a mother.  In this poem I wanted to express my feeling in an object’s view of how life passes by in a flash.  How sad it is to think about the memories of the past and think about the future and how it will be and if I will be able to do and see the things I dream of.
