Lover's Lament

Folder:
Secular Poetry

I feel your breath light upon my neck-

I turn around but no one's there

I feel your lips brush softly against mine-

I close my eyes but the moment's gone

I feel your fingers gently stroking my skin-

I reach for you but all I catch is air

I love, I need, I long for you

To taste your kiss, to hear your voice

Grant me only this, one last lover's wish

As desire stirs deep within my heart

Whisper soft my name

Let it linger sweet upon your lips

Love me, kiss me, fill my senses

One final glorious time

Touch me, hold me, fall asleep in my arms

You'll disappear again with dawn's first light

I know that Time changes us all

But one thing I vow will never change

I'll never stop loving you

I'll wait as long as I must

For you to love me as I love you.

This is such a great poem, I'm glad you started to write it down in psychology class so you would remember it, lol.
