My father’s truck

Since I have memory my father has had his truck in the garage. An old brown Chevrolet that he bought when he just could afford it, around the age of 25 years old approximately. It is a very noisy car when it is turned on and also when it is running. Even when I am in the farthest place of my house, I can notice when my father is going to some place just by hearing the engine’s noise. My father is now 65 years old and the truck is still in a good condition, usable as it was new. Just few minor repairs have had this truck along all this time. Another few imperfections, my father doesn’t have intentions to repair. Maybe it’s to remember some experiences that he has had in his truck along all this years. The same like scars in a human body. Or maybe he just simply doesn’t care about those imperfections. He has never been a vain person. It is curious that even when my father has the sufficient resource to buy a new modern car or a truck, he is still using his old first and only one vehicle. It doesn’t even have a radio, less an air condition. My father just needs to be transported from a place to another and nothing else. He has always taken a lot of care about his truck and generally about all his things. But he just takes care about the internal things of the truck and he doesn’t care that much about the look from outside. Now the garage of my house has been substituted with my new first car. My dad had to move his truck to the backyard of my house even though now his truck is not very protected. He missed to have his truck in the garage, but he knows that a new car needs more that place. He has always said that the things from the past were made to last long time, and now nothing last too much time. That truck is often borrowed by my brothers when their vehicles don’t want to work or have a problem. This truck seems to be indestructible and it is always there for whoever needs it. I think my father has a special affection for this truck and that’s why he never sold it or bought a new one, even when he could.
