Better Judgement

Drifting along the breeze that wont let me near.
Their eyes are wired to distort the light they see.
Problematic judgement, driven through the ground I sleep upon.
Crying by myself, venting to the wilted trees all around me.
This was never supposed to be reality, I was destined to be born in other days.
When the wind stings the wounds of a tattered soul,
You should have known better, you should have just stayed away.
In a land where the king is a primate, where the ugly truth is shunned.
I wish I were upon the pedestal of the world, then I would not be alone until the day I die.
I think they know, they've always known. They just don't think enough to help.
I idolized my oppressors, they kept me in line,
the bottom line...
This was never supposed to be reality, I was destined to exist another way.
When the hands of angels burn the wounds of a weeping soul,
You should have known better, you should have just stayed away.
