A little bird in a cage
Fighting to get free
That's what I was to you

Just because the unknown is scary doesn't mean you should keep me from it
Trying to keep me safe, your hands are like a choke hold turning me blue
My life is slipping away, I seem not to fit
Into your mold

I sit here lonely in a cage as dusk turns to dawn
