Sweet Breath Of Death

Sweet breath of death embrace me

Take me unto thy bosom and set me free

I reach out to take thy hand tonight

Its time I gave up this life's fight

Draw me into that chasm of darkness

Bring to the places of thy emptiness

Death, sweet death, take me home

This life is aimless as I live it alone

Let me close mine eyes to this place

I look willingly into deaths dark face

Deeping valley's where rivers flow

Let me drown in your streams below

Frail fingers of hope begone from me

Let go of your hold, and leave me be

Reaper of lost souls come reap mine

Now as I sit wait, I know its time

Susie,
Thank you for surviving and for not giving up. I, too, know this place. It's a place so dark that even a glimmer of darkness would be a brilliant glare. Thank you for sharing your heart through your poetry. One of my favorite places to go is Great Falls Park. I can breathe upon the rocks as I listen to the music of the falls and flowing river. When taking the first step in the repel all of life's battles vanish. Scuba diving does the very same thing. Once suited up and in the water descending to the depths...nothing else matters...NOTHING. It's glorious! I would love to hear about where you are on your journey and how you got there. Keep writing and bleeding out your heart in your poetic words.
