It wouldn't hurt
To taste a teaspoon full of joy
To see a light of the better day
And to have a word or two to say
About my flowery, rose little life story.
It wouldn't hurt
To learn about my heart's inclination
To see a beauty in a stranger's smile
And to dream a walk down the aisle
Without that burning, stinging sensation.
It wouldn't hurt
To realize that my life can change
To boldly confront fate's injustice
And to smile at the thought of my demise
Because I don't find His answer strange.
When all's said and done
And I'm still me and you are still you
We'll all say that life was fun
Because questions are many and answers few
So I can throw myself at fate's whim.
But would it hurt?
