Offered with a grin,
In light-hearted, friendly tone
As performances begin.
A dreaded message to send
Is a good luck wish;
One offers a different one -
Same meal in a different dish.
And so, when I said to him
"Honey, break a leg"
I did not know he'd act on it
And be taken down - a peg?
