The old man has been hesitant
To expose his pet to risk
But he had seen a little lump
Near his dear cat's spinal disk.
And so he had come to the vet
Informed she had to explore
In order to determine now
If pills were needed, or more.
His only friend, of seven years,
Lay stretched dead on the table.
Procedure had not been followed.
Ethics had been a fable.
The heartbroken old man was told
His pet was full of cancer.
And that she just hadn't made it.
He believed that false answer.
"We're busy now, we'll send the bill.
You can just be on your way.
It really is all for the best.
Oh, and sir, have a nice day."
