Laughing on the outside,
Crumbled within
Yet facing the cruel world
With a saucy grin.
Oh, we all have troubles,
We all have cares.
Unhappiness sneaks up,
Grabs us unawares.
We cannot wear our hearts
On the outside.
Strongly build that facade.
Behind it abide.
So listen to me now,
Sisters, brothers.
Paste on that happy smile
And join the others.
Kind of hits the nail on the head. I was never much good at putting up a facade. Sometimes to my detriment. :(
Facade
Yes, exactly. So many seem to succeed at it though. Thank you for relating to this poem, and commenting.
