Carpeted With Colour
The canyons were carpeted with colour
On this afternoon of early fall.
Yellow and purple displayed themselves
Midst the golds , oranges and reds in thrall.
How Nature’s wild palette was evident
Profusely displaying each mad hue
Contrasting sharply with the green spruce-
An immense natural abstract on view.
The white capped mountains gleamed so pristinely
Holding themselves distantly aloft
Soaring overhead, quite synchronized
Two bald eagles appeared simply to waft.
