Here in the midst of nowhere
In the embrace of the trees
Thick grass grows in the shallow banks
As the stream gurgles, quite at ease.
So am I, at ease and free,
Happily gurgling too
Revelling in this time alone-
And unlike the sky, I’m not blue.
My thoughts are clear, on my back,
Toes dancing in the water.
This is my milieu, one and all.
There’s no doubt I’m Nature’s daughter.
Tomorrow comes soon enough
Truly, all too soon I’d say
So I’d best get back to this work,
After all, relaxing’s not play.
Here in the midst of nowhere
In the embrace of the trees
Thick grass grows in the shallow banks
As the stream gurgles, quite at ease.
