Memories
Pin my life to my body,
Keep me covered and give me warmth
Even in shivering loneliness.
They are my indulgence
As well as my necessity.
In my autumn
They furnish beautiful protection
From the elements surrounding me.
I sit on a park bench, smiling
In a shawl of fond memories
Heedless of the blustery wind
Sending coloured missiles my way.
At night they are my warm flannel clothes
Embracing me in my solitary bed.
And so, I can smile and go on
Because I am wrapped in warm
Memories.
