In this land of mystery and guile
Where trouble and heartache seem to just renew
There I step- my feet in sinking sand-
And tell myself this involvement I'll not rue.
Trust and love have brought me to this pass
As I try to discover the buried truth-
Buried- but not forgotten, I hope
As the naughty misdemeanours of one's youth.
Too long I've endured the silences
Marring otherwise golden, happy life phase.
If my Love can't divulge the problems
We'll not reach promised Eden to end our days.
So, I do my best, try to find out truth
That cannot be so awful when it's exposed
As when it lies heavily hidden
In the prison that my own dear Love's imposed.
In this land of mystery and guile
Where trouble and heartache seem to just renew
There I step- my feet in sinking sand-
And tell myself this involvement I'll not rue.
