I Hear Violins

I raise my eyes to the liquid sky,

I drink the morning air,

I swallow the yellow yolk of sun-

And all things I dare.

With lightness of step and a gay mien

I approach the brand new day

For I'm fortified and emboldened-

Ready for what comes my way.

Ah, the violins of destiny

Play sweetly for my ears

And dance I shall, with a merry face

Over the coming years

For my toes are nimble, my heart pure,

I have Nature's nourishment.

I shall whirl and twirl and pirouette

And life live as God's intent.

Hear me, play me as a violin;

I add my voice to theirs.

The melodies of life can be sweet-

I'm part of those great airs.
