Misunderstanding
A look of fury covered his face
As he turned away in disgust.
Why should he have to do as now told?
If he didn't strike out he'd bust!
Stupid bossy teacher anyway
Thinking she was some kind of queen!
Didn't she know she was talking to
The world's axis -a modern teen?!
Impotent anger was visible
To all who watched him walk away
Until the teacher called out to him
"Listen again to what I say.
Come back at noon to hand in your work-
And this is NOT a detention."
The clouded face cleared most rapidly
And the whole class lost its tension.
So listen, please listen carefully
When you are given instruction.
Misunderstanding can be the cause
Of much of the world's destruction!
