HEALING STRIPES

Oh God as we see
the healing stripes
of Christ
.. who suffered
to lift us all

as we see the healing
stripes
of dawn's ribbons..
parallel to the horizon

we pray that You will
turn our flag's
stripes into
healing stripes

for any flag can move
in the wind
but only the flags of
holy peaceful countries move
in the Winds of Spirit

upon the stone
.. sign of a past flood
when earth was knocked prone

A watermark..
an imprint within the
cotton paper..
sign of those who love
trees

A watermark
.. the sculpted rocks
wavecarved..
through the aperture in
the granite
the morning sun pours

Watermark
..the waters of Mark
.. the words which
summon
the living Christ

PARADISE

Each row after row and row

He did hoe and hoe and hoe
  and hacked the weeds

which God did grow
.. and shot at deer and crows
And he harvested ten thousand
pounds ..

The other did nothing
but watch his orchard grow
and harvested 450,000 lbs.
as light through trees did flow.
