POMEGRANATE

*

Within soft fruit
oft is stone..
the peach and cherry pits of granite
Yet each as sure lifebursts like..
the rubystudded pomegranate.

What of unequalled pepper seeds..
bells pendant in pepper belfry
.. bells with no longer
.. a wish to be free

Furry mango-rocks become
freed mango flame rookeries.
Hard coconuts with
silent inner seas grace
Palestine and Israel.

Shinto shrine
cones of pine
Windwanded
milkweed seed.

Apple chapels hide the
sacred secret starseeds.
Tiny acorn germination
.. greatoaks the German nation.

Filbert pearls from
forests unpurloined
Nut trees give all to all
Who can steal the free?

One day soon the
crown jewel pears
lying on
wood's velvet moss
will be ignited
by rainrods and
sunbeam sceptres.

The past hell
was cetive shell
that life within
might in peace swell.

night has been
subdued
... but left her gift
... flowered hills
bedewed
*
COMMUTE
*
To jail or nursing
homes
some want others
to commit
while others seek
these sentences
to commute.

VEGAN PHYSICIANS

as a Lenten sacrifice
burned her writing.
JBO replied

Tom took me with
him to Gettysburg... he
was with his unique
power praying for the
release of the souls
whose deaths were so
horrific they were
still trapped as ghosts
there. May all those
who are earthbound whether
from
battlefields, amputation
wards, or other agonized
deaths or from attachment
to the past be released
to God.

behind his back to
call his commander in chief
Lincoln an ape.
But unusually forgiving
was brilliant empathic
honest Abe.
